Halloween: Hobbies and Their Connection to My Profession.
You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing.
You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy. - Psalms 30:11

It's no secret that I love to create art. This passion extends to both my professional life, where I design and embroider, and my personal life, filled with hobbies and enjoyment. I've observed all these aspects come together in my daily activities, developed gradually over time. I've always been focused on learning and following my instincts, often channeling my pain into art – a journey known to me alone.

My goal when pursuing my hobbies is to transform the pain I feel into something beautiful that can inspire others to strengthen their relationship with themselves. One aspect that has continually piqued my curiosity is Asian culture, particularly Japanese culture, where my fascination with J-Rock, blending music, voice, and dance, as well as anime and cosplay culture, was born.
I felt truly complete at an event called SOFA "Salon del Ocio y la Fantasia Animada" in Bogota, which coincides with Halloween. This event brings together various forms of expression, including music by anime bands, dance by K-pop and J-pop groups, fashion through Harajuku or cosplay events and catwalks, photography and video, which are crucial communication tools in our generation, and anime and video games, encompassing the fantasy of Japanese animated series.
For me, Halloween is not about scares or terror; it's about using fashion to express what lies within, to depict my inner demons and personal struggles. Therefore, during October, my favorite month of the year, my life becomes an explosion of art. You can witness it in my publications, my fashion choices, and my makeup. I've showcased this creativity in the past, particularly during SOFA.

SOFA allowed me to glimpse my daily routine. During the day, I studied Fashion and Italian for half the time, dedicating the other half to music. On weekends, I rehearsed K-pop dance with my group, Gold Dance Team. Months before any event, I received orders for Kigurumies. [Click here to see them.]
Kigurumies are pajamas adorned with the eyes, ears, tail, and wings of a character from an animation. It all began with a need for a Kigurumi for a dance performance with my K-pop group. After creating my first one, requests from others started pouring in.

This led me to become a cosmaker. Initially, I made Kigurumies for myself, but the demand grew, prompting me to create them for others. The creation process involved developing sizes based on the person's height, crafting basic patterns, and meticulously adding handcrafted details, which made a significant difference in quality.
As the quality of my products improved, I continued with my demanding schedule, working part-time on custom Kigurumies. On weekends, I maintained my involvement in K-pop dance and anime events, capturing photographs and applying the skills I acquired in classes. I even became the national leader of the Digimon Community Colombia group.
During events like SOFA, I seamlessly transitioned from dancing to changing my outfit for another event, such as a Digimon Community catwalk, and then back again for a dance performance with my group. Seeing my friends wear the cosplays or Kigurumies I had created filled me with happiness. This experience beautifully intertwined my hobbies with my profession.

My life was bustling, and I utilized lessons from the Chavon School on time management to balance my profession and hobbies with my personal interests. My motivation to create art stems from the joy it brings others. In my life, God has transformed my sorrow into dance and filled me with joy - a joy I aspire to share. (Psalms 30:11)
